Nicky Morris, owner of Merry Maids Fylde, Blackpool and Preston, part of ServiceMaster, one of the UK’s biggest franchisors, was a runner-up in a national franchise award at the 2014 NatWest Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) Awards.
Shortlisted in the category Women Franchisee of the Year Award, sponsored by BarterCard, Nicky was recognised for her dedication to her business and continued growth and success. Founded in 2002 in Fylde and Blackpool, Nicky purchased the neighbouring Preston area in 2012.
Nicky commented: “To reach the final three of any award is a triumph but a national award with this much recognition is incredible. I’ll share the success with all the team and I know this will provide a boost to us all.”
Alan Lewin, managing director of ServiceMaster Limited added: “We are extremely proud of Nicky reaching this stage of the awards. Companies like Nicky’s provide stable employment to local people and with increased growth, bring more opportunities.”
EWIF is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to encourage women to buy a franchise business, to franchise their existing business or to help existing franchise operations to attract more female franchisees. The organisation’s regular meetings across the country are extremely well attended.
