Terms & Conditions

In the absence of express written agreement to the contrary between a Merry Maids franchisee (hereinafter referred to as "Merry Maids") and the customer the supply of services specified are delivered subject to the following terms & conditions.

  1. Either party may terminate this agreement by giving to the other not fewer than three days written notice.
  2. Merry Maids cleaning teams will carry out all the cleaning tasks scheduled on your service agreement for that visit. Variations to the specified tasks may be made after consultation with the Merry Maids' office giving at least 24 hours prior notice.
  3. The amount of time a cleaning team spends on a visit will be at the sole discretion of Merry Maids. Visits cannot be scheduled for a specific time although an indication will be given and the customer advised if the team is likely to be delayed unduly.
  4. The unique Merry Maids Service Guarantee ensures any cleaning task not carried out to the customer’s satisfaction will be redone promptly at no additional charge. Merry Maids must be made aware of any dissatisfaction within one business day of the original clean
  5. Merry Maids require at least three working day's notice of cancellation or postponement. If fewer than three working day's notice is received there may be a cancellation charge. The customer agrees to pay in full for any visit cancelled by them on the day of the clean. This includes visits aborted by the maids when unable to gain access to the home due to being locked out.
  6. When the customer goes on holiday Merry Maids will offer a no fee cancellation of regular cleans falling due provided at least 3 days notice is given. Merry Maids reserve the right to charge a fee for any cancellation giving fewer than 3 days notice.
  7. If your cleaning visit falls on a Bank Holiday every effort will be made to re-schedule your visit but this cannot be guaranteed.
  8. Merry Maids agrees to keep keys and other client information secure and confidential.
  9. The customer agrees not to hire any Merry Maids employee during, or until 90 days after termination of, cleaning services.
  10. In the event of a breakage or accident any claim must be notified to Merry Maids within 24 hours of the cleaning visit. The maids will leave a note informing the customer of any such breakage or accident.
  11. Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed payment will be collected at the time of the clean by cash or cheque payable to Merry Maids.
  12. The customer agrees to notify Merry Maids if any person in the household is suspected of contracting an infectious disease. Notification must be at least 24 hours before a scheduled visit. Merry Maids reserves the right to cancel in such circumstances.
  13. Any pets liable to bite, scratch or intimidate the Merry Maids team must be secured away from our teams during the clean.
  14. The maids are under strict instructions not to clean animal or human faeces, urine, vomit, soiled clothing or other similar hazards. Our teams are instructed to leave any room containing offending items and to inform Merry Maids.
  15. These Terms & Conditions do not affect the customer's statutory rights.
